The efforts of the Augustine L. Munoz Cancer Research Fund (ALMCRF) were again recognized by USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in their July/August 2021 ‘Community for a Cure’ Newsletter.
The organization was highlighted regarding their dedication over the last 24 years to raise money for the early detection of Pancreatic Cancer at USC Norris, mainly through its annual golf tournament held every July.
Due to the pandemic, the golf tournament has been canceled the past two years so the committee is adding a Fall Casino Night and Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament to make 2021/2022 a strong season of giving.
The ALMCRF was founded by chair, David Munoz, after he and his and family suddenly lost their father, Augustine Munoz to a rare form of Pancreatic Cancer in 1998.
