Dear Friends,

Well, we got a little bit of a late start this year but now we’re finally ready to go! Thanks for your patience.

I am pleased to invite you to the 11th Annual Augie Muñoz Memorial Golf Tournament.  This year’s event is on July 10, 2009 at California Country Club in Whittier, CA.  Lunch starts at 11 am and the Shotgun Start is at 1 pm.

Each year, proceeds are given in my father’s name to the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Your donation benefits research in the early detection of Pancreatic Cancer, one of the most deadly forms of cancers.  Over the last 10 years we have raised nearly $250,000. With your help we can continue to do much more! It is our goal that one day a method will be found to detect Pancreatic Cancer early on so that it may be treated.

Please see the attached invitation for our event.  I hope you can join us for a fun day of golf on Friday, July 10th as we celebrate our 11th Annual Augie Muñoz Memorial.  For those of you that have played before you will notice that we have REDUCED the cost of our foursome to $800 this year! We would greatly appreciate your Sponsorship or Donation to our charity.  If you can’t join us or if you don’t golf, I encourage you to try your luck at our new 50/50 Cash Raffle.  The winner will be drawn at our event and will win half our raffle pot!  Winner need not be present.

This year in an effort to “Go Green”, many of you are receiving this by email.  Doing this will save us a substantial amount in printing and postage expense.  So I’d ask that you please forward this email to any of your friends or family.  Some of you may be new to our Muñoz Golf Tournament, so I invite you to visit our website for more information, photos of Augie and of previous tournaments.  Thank you for your anticipated support!

It’s time again for our Annual Augie Muñoz Memorial. This is our 11th Tournament and we are back again at California Country Club in Whittier. Thank you to the golfers, sponsors and volunteers who are the reason for our success each year.

As in the past our format is a four-man scramble. Check in begins at 11:00 am. Once you check in, pick up your tee prizes and join us for our traditional barbecue lunch served by Dolores Canning Co. The driving range and putting green will be open for warm-up and the putting contest.

Our Shotgun start is at 1:00 pm. In addition to the on-course games and skills contests, we will feature a New Car for the first Hole-in-One. As always, our on-course volunteers will keep you filled with plenty of food and drinks. When you’re ready for a snack Los Cinco Puntos will once again serve delicious Carnitas Tacos at the Cross-Road by the lake (Hole #5).

Immediately following golf, mariachis will play for your entertainment as you enjoy cocktails on the patio. Dinner and the awards presentation begins at 7:00 pm. Following dinner we’ll call out winners for our great selection of raffle prizes.

This year, in light of our economic times, we are REDUCING the cost of a golf foursome to $800! All golf entry fees include the Contest Package. This package includes entry into all skills contests, Hole-in-One opportunities and two mulligans.

you will come to catch up with some old friends as well as make some
